Jesus, the ONLY Way to God
During the last supper with his disciples, Jesus said to them,
“Don’t let your heart be troubled. Believe in God. Believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many homes. If it weren’t so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and will receive you to myself; that where I am, you may be there also. Where I go, you know, and you know the way.”
Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going. How can we know the way?”
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on, you know him, and have seen him.” (John 14:1-7)
There is only ONE WAY (Jesus) to God, and TRUTH is only found in that ONE WAY, and through knowing that TRUTH we set FREE and have eternal LIFE.
Not like something I read today. I was doing some research on the origins of the New Age movement and was reading about Theosophy which was founded in the late 19th century by a Russian lady named Helena Blavatsky. I glanced at the logo on the right and read the slogan – “There is no religion higher than truth.”
Hmmmm… also on the logo is a snake, Nazi symbol, 6 pointed star, eye of Horas – all occult symbols. Here the serpent is claiming as he did in the beginning, that he is the source of truth. Through that mankind has been in bondage ever since.
Then I was listening to a preacher who said that those who are deceived believe they have the truth. That is what deception is all about.
Jesus said:
“See to it that no one deceives you, because many will come in my name and say, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and they will deceive many people. You are going to hear of wars and rumours of wars. See to it that you are not alarmed.
“These things must take place, but the end hasn’t come yet, because nation will rise up in arms against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. But all these things are only the beginning of the birth pains.”
(Matthew 24:4-8)
